Traveling while Traveling

So, when we felt like flying 3,000 miles across the country to visit family in Spokane wasn't quite enough traveling, we decided to hop in the car and make the six hour drive to Portland, OR while we were in the mood to go new places!
(Ha)
My dad and sister had signed up to do a Tough Mudder in Portland the second weekend we were in town (before they knew we were going to be in town) and since we have family in Portland, we thought it'd be fun to make the trip with them!
And it worked out pretty well, because it turned out to be a bit of a family reunion down there, as many of my extended Doughty family members joined us to celebrate my cousin's upcoming wedding with a bridal shower!
[That's a lot of people, and yet still only a fraction of the Doughty clan!]
After the shower, we Lathams decided to take a roundabout way home, and swing into Maple Valley, WA to visit Danielley and attend my old church there.

She's also pregnant with her third, and it was fun to get some blooming baby belly photos of the two of us!
(The matching black maxi dresses were a total accident, but they provided for lots of laughs and some pretty cute pictures!)

Then we got to drive back to Spokane, over the gorgeous Cascade mountains, through the desert lands of central Washington, and across the stunning Columbia River gorge. Washington is truly an incredible place to see. So much diversity in just one state!

It was sure fun to travel while traveling!
Even with a growing belly and a shrinking bladder... ;)
