High Five for Five Years!

Well, I don't technically remember high five-ing, but it was certainly our demeanor on our absolutely perfect getaway to the beautiful Peaks of Otter Lodge. 

We checked into our room and then hopped in the car to get to the winery just in time. We purchased a bottle of wine to enjoy with our picnic on the lake!

We enjoyed perfect, cool, overcast weather. (A special treat during a Virginian August!)

Just as we were packing up our picnic it began to lightly drizzle, so we returned to our room to sit out on the balcony that overlooked the same view. We finished our bottle of wine as we watched the rain splash on the water and fish jumping to catch a bite to eat. We spotted a deer across the Lake. It was so serene...

 The rain cleared up and we had time to take a walk on the trail that runs around the entire lake. We saw many more deer, and enjoyed the peaceful scenery.

The next morning we ate at the Lodge's restaurant and requested a table near the window.

All in all, it was a very, very Happy Anniversary!

Many thanks to my sweet husband for organizing it all.

It's pretty easy to be happily married to him.
